Ericsson
announced on July 19, 2010 that the company has signed a managed services
contract with China Mobile Hebei, according to the China Times of Taiwan. Under
the three-year contract, Ericsson is expected to provide field maintenance
services for China Mobile Hebei's 22,000 GSM (Global System for Mobile
Communications)/TD-SCDMA (Time
Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access) base station sites throughout
Hebei Province in Northern China.

Mobile Hebei, a China Mobile regional subsidiary, is reportedly one of the
major telecom operators in Hebei Province, currently serving around 35 million
subscribers. Hebei Province has a population of 70 million, and its area is
roughly the same size as the United Kingdom.
